Jekyll & Hyde for 2 players
The rules follow the princip of German Bauernskat/Offiziersskat (Skat for two players)
Shuffle all cards. Separate them in two stocks of each 7 light and 7 dark cards
Take one stock and place in front of each player 7 cards facedown side at side. In most cases each player has light (Jekyll) and dark (Hyde) cards in front of him.
Then the cards of the other stock are place faceup on the facedown cards, one of each. Let half centimeter of the lower card visible, so that you can see, which kind of card is below the upper card (light or dark).
One trick consists of four cards. Each player has two turns per trick. A player at his turn either plays a card of his own type (Jekyll respectivly Hyde) or says to his opponent to play a card for him. Only faceup cards can be played. If a faceup card is played the facedown card below it is turned up immediately.
Only if there is no own faceup card at the opponent, the opponent can be requested to play a facedown card. In the same way a player can choose a facedown card from it's own cards if there is no own faceup card at own side and the player doesn't like to request his opponent in that turn.
Jekyll & Hyde for 6 players
It's played in two teams of three players.
You need two sets of playing cards.
One transforming card Jekyll and one transforming card Hyde is taken out of the game, so that you've in total 54 cards. With exception of transforming cards each card is twice in the game.
The 2 Jekyll&hyde cards are placed on the table, so that a Jekyll-side touches a Hyde-side. Now 3 sides of Jekyll and 3 sides of Hyde show to the players, f.e.:
From now on you play it as the rules for four players, but for every trick there are six cards played isntead of four.
